Zhejiang University and University College Dublin Assigned an Interuniversity Cooperation Agreement

At the beginning of the New Year, Zhejiang University established a cooperation partnership with University College Dublin, Ireland's premier university, a well-known university. President Wei Yang, and President Hugh Bray from University College Dublin,signed the interuniversity cooperation agreement and student exchange agreement at Yuquan Campus on January 19, 2010. Vice-President Ping Wu attended the meeting.

Both presidents exchanged overviews of latest developments about their universities respectively, especially in the areas of international cooperation status and future development planning. President Wei Yang suggested that both sides could start cooperation in their preponderant disciplines, such as computer software, agriculture and environment protection, remote sensing technology, telemedicine and so on, and stressed cooperation in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary areas. President Hugh Bray also expressed the same desire for cooperation and his willingness to actively promote the bilateral cooperation. Meanwhile both presidents reviewed future arrangements of cooperation and exchange between two universities.
