Freshmen arrive on Xianlin Campus and begin their new life at NJU.
September 5 was a day to remember for more than 4,000 NJU freshmen as they settled into their new home on Xianlin Campus.
The new campus welcomed its first freshman residents with beautiful flowers, balloons, banners and so on.
Chancellor Hong Yinxing and President Chen Jun also came to Xianlin to welcome the new students.

For students from poor families, earthquake-stricken or flooded areas, the university opened a Green Passage to reduce their financial pressures. In addition to facilitating registration, the university also provided living necessities, part-time job opportunities and free training to the needies.

Nanjing University also provided accommodation for students families: They can rent a bed in student dormitories or spend the night in the university gymnasium free of charge.
Xianlin Campus, a 2000,000-square-meter international campus, now houses more than 10,000 students. All the student apartments are well-equipped with air-conditioners, water dispensers, telephone lines, network interfaces, shoe racks, towel rails and so on.
