The award ceremony of the 5th C-100 Leadership Scholarship was held at Nanjing on June 8. Nanjing University (NJU), the Committee of 100 (C-100), and the Golden Eagle International Group jointly hosted this year`s award.
Two graduate students from Nanjing University, Zhang Ruiqian of the School of Journalism and Communication and Guo Xiaojing of the School of Business, won the top 10 awards. To date 10 NJU students have received this award.
Among the distinguished guests were Zhu Shanlu, Secretary of the CPC Nanjing Committee, John S. Chen, Chairman of the C-100, Prof. Hong Yinxing, NJU Chancellor, and Prof. Zhang Rong, NJU Executive Vice President.
Chancellor Hong Yinxing in his speech stressed the importance of young talents training in an era of knowledge-driven economy. He encouraged the youth to make full use of their passion and wisdom to contribute to the prosperity of our country and to the progress of all mankind.
The C-100 established the Leadership Scholarship Awards Program (LSAP) in 2005 with the aim of cultivating China`s next generation of leaders and furthering the Committee`s relationship with top Chinese universities.
