On November 11th, invited by School of Internet of Things, a group of professors and experts paid an academic exchange visit to our university, they were Dr. Shih-Chi Liu, the Program Director of Sensor and Sensing System from Civil, Mechanical, Manufacturing Innovation Division of U.S. National Science Foundation; Prof. Billie F. Spencer Jr, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign; Dr. Song and Sun from Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, University of Houston. Prof. Ji Zhicheng, Vice President and Mr. Liu Fei, Dean of Internet of Things gave a warm welcome to the four experts. On the second day, a seminar was held on topics of the four experts specific study fields.
Faculty and students from School of Internet of Things, School of Environment and Civil Engineering, School of Science, School of Mechanical Engineering and other related schools and departments listened to the academic report and actively participated in the discussion. This exchange visit will further broaden our academic vision, and strengthen our exchanges and cooperation with foreign high-tech research institutions as well.
After the seminar, the four experts paid a visit to our Energy Conservation Center. All of them thought highly of the acts as well as the turned-out effect of implementing plans called perceiving energy consumption and building up a low-carbon society by Internet of Things technology, which had great value of application and promotion.
