A fire burned over 10 meters of power lines feeding Subway Line 13 Monday afternoon, which slowed down train operation for about an hour, reported the Beijing News Tuesday.
The fire broke out on a lawn next to the tracks between Beiyuan and Wangjing West stations at around 4 pm on Monday. A witness said the fire spread over 100 meters and smoke was also spotted coming from between the tracks, reported the paper.
Firefighters and subway technicians were called to the scene and operation of the subway line resumed to normal around 5 pm. The burned cables will be replaced, according to subway technicians.
