Street robbers on trial

A gang of nine people involved in a major Beijing street robbery stood trial in Chaoyang district Monday.
Two victims were robbed of $750,000 by four masked men wielding knives near Yabao Lu, Chaoyang district, on November 7, 2009. One victim was wounded.
An officer from Dongfeng police station and a security guard passing by chased the robbers and caught two of them near Workers' Stadium, according to the Beijing Evening News.
The robbers confessed in court that they had been tailing the victims for three days before the attack.
