Beijing police sent a young Burmese woman back to Myanmar after she was trafficked to Beijing in March, the Beijing Exit-Entry Administration of the Municipal Public Security Bureau said Sunday.
Mei Li (pseudonym), 16, went to the Dongtieying police station in Fengtai district to report her case on March 25.
She said she met another Burmese woman in Myanmar earlier this year and went to China with her to earn money. She was abducted in Yunnan Province and sold to a Chinese man surnamed Li, who married her and brought her to Tianjin.
Beijing police arrested Li and transferred the case to the Yunnan police.
