Black sesame swindle

Allegedly tainted black sesame seeds were pulled from shelves at the Mingguangsi agricultural product wholesale market in Haidian district, the management officer confirmed to the Global Times Sunday.
A consumer told the Beijing News on Thursday that she bought black sesame seeds in the market but found their color washed off.
Shenzhen Satellite TV reported Sunday that similarly dyed black sesame seeds were also found in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and Liaoning Province.
Officers with the administration for industry and commerce are investigating.
The market's management office employee said the businessman who sold them the seeds would be punished.
