Death by power outage

An 82-year-old man died after choking on his own saliva at a Daxing district nursing home on Sunday. The aspirator on which he depended was not functioning because the home's electricity supply has been out since Thursday, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
The grandson of the deceased said the village where the nursing home is located was slated for demolition and that the water supply has been cut off for one year.
Demolition has been postponed due to compensation disagreements with the developer, according to nursing home director Jia Xiuying.
