Divorces for couples in mixed-race marriages are on the rise, typically among those couples who have higher educations and incomes whose life pursuit is not family-focused, according to a report conducted by the Fengtai district court, the Legal Mirror reported Tuesday.
Insufficient communication, infidelity and a lack of children were among the major reasons cited for divorces, the report said.
In China, divorces involving a foreign party mean those in which one person is a foreigner or a holder of a Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan ID. It also includes couples in which one member has lived overseas for a long period of time.
