XJ has made great efforts for a long time in quickening the advantageous resources transformation, improving the comprehensive utilization rate of oil and natural gas as well as carrying out deep processing. All these have strengthened the leading role of oil and petrochemical industry.
Urumqi Petrochemical's para-xylene aromatic hydrocarbon equipment, completed construction in July. Now it is under trial production and is expected to put into production in October.
Aromatic hydrocarbon is a high-tech and environment friendly raw material widely used in producing engineering plastic, such as car body shell and decoration material.
After putting into production, the project can offer raw material for 10 large industrial clusters, and drive a production value of 18 billion Yuan from the lower reaches industries.
In order to enhance utilization of the resources, Kuqa County tries to change the single oil and petrochemical industrial structure. Relying on the flagship enterprises including PetroChina and SinoPec, the county put efforts to develop the lower reaches industry. Making use of oil tar, byproducts of oil refining in Tarim River Branch Company, Huawei Industry Co., Ltd. in Kuqa successfully produced anode carbon. Now the products have entered market in east Europe.
