President Zhou led ZAFU delegation attended IUFRO

The XXIII IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations) World Congress has been held in Seoul Korea from 23rd to 28th August. Leading by President Zhou Guomo, the delegation of ZAFU has attended the congress this year.
The theme of the congress is: Forest for the Future: Sustaining Society and the Environment. More than 3500 delegates from 110 countries have attended the meeting. Korean President Lee Myung bak attended the opening ceremony and gave the speech. The congress mainly focused on forest and climate change, bio-diversity conservation, sustainable development of forest resource, forest environmental services (FES), and so on.
Our University has sent Professor Zhou Guomo as well as Professor Shen Yueqin, Professor Xu Xiuying, Professor Xu Qiufang, Professor Zeng Yanru, associate Professor Li Lanying and Zhu Zhen to attend the congress. Meanwhile our university has undertaken the branch meeting of Managing Asian bamboo forest in a changing world . Professor Zhou Guomo was appointed as the president of this meeting. Professor Shen Yueqin from ZAFU, Professor Zhang Qiyao from Auburn Univeristy U.S.A and Professor Shashi Kant from Toranto University Canada were as cordinators.
Professor Zhou Guomo and Professor Shen Yueqin have given the lectures of Measurement and evaluation of carbon storage in bamboo and Bamboo Sector Reforms and Local Rural Development in Zhejiang Province, China . Professor Xu Xiuying has given the lecture of Forestland Use Rights Market: Evidence from Zhejiang, China on the meeting of The role of institutions and institutional economics in sustainable forest . Other delegates from ZAFU also have shown their own research results by wall newspaper.
