The Oil Painting Exhibition of Mykhailo Guida and Three Generations of Ukrainian Artists Achieved a Success

The Oil Painting Exhibition of Mykhailo Guida and three generations of Ukrainian Artists were held in Ningbo Museum of Art. Present at the opening ceremony were Deputy Director of Art committee of China Artists Association, Deputy Director of Art Committee of China Oil Painting Society and Professor Quan Shanshi, , three Ukrainian artists, former Deputy Director of People s Congress of Ningbo, Honorary Chairman of Ningbo Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the well-known oil painter, Chen Jiwu and professors concerned in the College of Art and Design.

Mykhailo Guida, academician of Ukrainian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Professor of Ukrainian National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture and Director of Drawing Studio, worked as a long-term guest professor in ZSTU. Mykhailo Guida painted a lot of landscape and figure pictures while working in China. He invented a unique language for painting by incorporating traditional Chinese art essence into his oil paintings.

The oil painting exhibition won high praise from insiders. Curator of Ningbo Museum of Art, Han Licheng, made a speech in the opening ceremony, saying, This exhibition exerted a positive and far-reaching influence on promoting the artistic exchange between China and other countries. Mykhailo Guida has made unremitting efforts in cultivating Chinese artistic talents. Professor Quan Zaishi also spoke highly of Mykhailo Guida s exploration in fine arts via his oil paintings and his perfect skills in the painting forms and languages.

Mykhailo Guida talked with teachers and students who visited the exhibition on artistic creations and other topics and modestly answered their questions.

This exhibition attracted more than 200 ZSTU s teachers and students and local fine arts fans in Ningbo.
