FamousTieCity of China Cup the Third National Silk Pattern Design Contest, held by the Apparel Committee of China National Garment Association and the Academic Work Committee of China Fashion Association, dropped the curtain days ago. ZSTU dyeing-weaving art design major Zhang Lijia s Dynamic Dots, under the instruction of School of Fashion Design & Engineering teacher Lin Jinglu, won the championship of the Contest and was awarded the singular special prize and ten thousand yuan bonus.

Dynamic Dots was inspired by a photograph from nature. Bearing in mind the theme of the Contest flowing rhythms , the designer grasped the color and fabric trend to do the design. He, making use the relation between different colors, metaphorically compared human beings to small color patches among the dots. The color patches were split and combined in the light of fast-paced and slow-tempo human life, which produced a seemingly inactive but in reality flowing rhythm. Instructor Lin Jinglu said, Dynamic Dots combines human life with fashion elements, stresses the harmony between different colors, integrates various elements into an intact whole. It is really of cultural profundity.

Designers that passed the preliminary contest also include those from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Academy of Arts &Design Tsinghua University, Wuhan University of Science and Engineering, Xi an Polytechnic University, Sugino Fashion College Zhejiang Babei Textile Com. Ltd. Etc. ZSTU dyeing-weaving art design major Huang Dacheng s Language Monogatari was awarded the second prize and College of Science and Arts student Lin Lizhi Contradiction was awarded Excellent prize.
