Research Agreement Signed with China Commercial Aircraft Corporation

The People's Government of Shaanxi Province and China Commercial Aircraft Company held the ceremony for signing the commercial aircraft project cooperation framework agreement in Xi'an on April 15. At the ceremony, NPU signed the research cooperation agreement on management innovation model with China Commercial Aircraft Corporation.

The ceremony was attended by Zhao Leji, secretary of Shaanxi Provincial CPC Committee, Yuan Chunqing, the governor, Wu Dengchang, the vice governor, Ye Jinfu, Chairman of NPU s Board of Trustees, Zhang Qingwei, president of China Commercial Aircraft Corporation, and others.

At the ceremony, Zhang Qingwei says that the cooperation agreements signed respectively with Shaanxi Provincial Government and NPU aim at utilizing the aviation resources of Shaanxi and laying the solid foundation for the implementation of the commercial aircraft project. He also says that China Commercial Aircraft Corporation will seriously implement the framework agreement and contribute to the province's economic development.

On the sideline of the ceremony, China Commercial Aircraft Corporation deputy general manager Wu Guanghui visited NPU and held discussions with the leaders of various research projects for the commercial aircraft. The discussions were attended by the university leaders Ye Jinfu, Weng Zhiqian and Wei Bingbo.

At the discussions, the project leaders Song Bifeng, He Guoqiang, Gao Xiaoguang, Zhang Weiguo and others reported on the progresses of their research projects. Han Keqin, vice president of Shanghai Aircraft Design Academy, and Wu Yue, the deputy commander in chief of the Airbus Program expressed their hope that more NPU specialists or professors will participate in the research and design of the commercial aircraft and contribute to the earliest possible completion of the nation's Commercial Aircraft Program.

Wu Guanghui expresses his approval of NPU's breakthroughs on the wing project, hoping that NPU will do more detailed work, make breakthroughs on key technologies and educate more talents for China Commercial Aircraft Corporation.

Professor Ye said that from the outset NPU had paid much attention to the commercial aircraft program and called for its professors to take an active part in the program. The university will work hard for commercial aircraft to make their flights the earliest possible.

After the discussion, accompanied by Vice Presidents Weng Zhiqian, Wei Bingbo and others, Wu Guanghui and his delegation made a study tour of the Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education for Contemporary Design and Integrated Manufacturing Technology and the National Key Laboratory of Aerodynamic Design and Research.
