On August 25 Vice President Wang Wei met with and welcomed the visiting Vice President Vimal Chaitanya. Mr. Wang Wei gave a briefing on NPU's disciplines, research capability, faculty and student body; he also highlighted the program for sending graduate students abroad by the state to build a prestigious university.
Mr. Vimal Chaitanya also gave a briefing on his university and pointed out that his university is similar to NPU in many respects, hoping that more NPU faculties and students will come to his university to study. Both sides show their interest in closer cooperation in education and research.
Present at the meeting are Tang Hong, director of Office for International Cooperation, and Professor Wang Yiguang from School of Materials Science and Engineering.
