A scheme of setting up National Engineering Technology Research Centers in 2009 was officially issued by National Department of Science and Technology recently. 30 National Engineering Technology Research Centers, 16 of which were for public welfare, were approved to be set up. The National Engineering Technology Research Center of Functional Reconstruction of Human Tissue sponsored by SCUT was approved.
The National Engineering Technology Research Center of Functional Reconstruction of Human Tissue will focus on the digitalization and individualization of advanced medical technology for functional reconstruction of human tissue as well as on the key generic technology R & D of products. This research center will provide a cooperative R & D platform of benefit-sharing for units of upper and lower levels.
The Establishment of the center will not only greatly promote the development of Material Science, Information Engineering, Bioscience and related disciplines but also boost the scientific and technological innovation capability and overall competitiveness of SCUT.
