On the afternoon of Nov.26, the closing ceremony of the 2nd Guangri Cup SCUT Elevator Design Contest and the signing ceremony of Guagnri Elevator Innovation Class were held in Shaw Building of Humanities, co-hosted by SCUT and Guangzhou Guangri Elevator Ltd. Co.
With a theme of "Science, Creation and Life" and a core of elevator design and production, Guangri Cup Elevator Design Contest is aimed at stimulating college students' sense of innovation as well as training their practice ability. The contest lasts for more than a month, and is divided into three groups, namely, Elevator Model Design, Lift Car Design and Creative Design.
The contest has drawn an attendance of over 300 teams from SCUT, Sun Yat-Sen University, South China Agricultural University, etc. The SCUT students swept the board of this contest, showing SCUT's competitive strength as a leading institute of science and technology.
Promoted by this contest, SCUT School of Automation Science and Engineering and Guangzhou Guangri Elevator Ltd. Co. are working together to set up an innovation class which will provide college students with a better platform to combine their theoretical knowledge and practical abilities together.
