Mr. Eberhard Schuppius, General Consul of Germany, paid a visit to Jinan University on April 2nd, together with Ms. Beate Rogler, director of DAAD Guangzhou office. The guests were greeted by Prof. Hu Jun, President of Jinan University, and Prof. Jia Yimin, the vice president.
President Hu Jun introduced to the guests the basic situation of Jinan University, and mainly introduced exchanges and cooperation of the university with overseas universities, especially the cooperation with Berlin Friedrich Foundation. Prof. Hu expressed his wish to promote cooperation with Germany in the education field and learn more experience from German higher education.
Mr. Schuppius spoke highly of Jinan University and expected deeper cooperation between China and Germany by strengthening cooperation in education, and exchanged ideas with President Hu on improving exchange and cooperation between two sides. Ms. Yu Huifen, Director of International Affair Office, and Mr.
Li Lijia, Deputy Director of the office attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Mr. Eberhard Schuppius visited the Alumni Building and the university library.
