Sino-German Transregional Collaborative Research Meeting Held

On June 2, 2010, the annual meeting of the German-Chinese Transregional Collaborative Research ------ Mutual interaction of viruses with cells of the immune system: from fundamental research to immunotherapy and vaccination was held in Wuhan.


Prof. Shao Xinyu, Vice-President of HUST, Dr. Zhao Miaogen, representative of DFG and Vice-Director of DAAD, and Prof. Jan Buer, Vice-Dean of the Medical Faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, attended the opening ceremony. Prof. Shao Xinyu gave a warm lecture fully affirming the effort and result of researchers both from Germany and China in this program, and he also approved that TRR 60 met the strategy of improving the prevention and controlling to infectious diseases in both countries. He expected the cooperation between Germany and China could be deeply promoted on the present foundation and make great contributions to the public health of both countries.

This conference involved three different research subjects. Prof. Yang Dongliang, director of the cooperative program, and Prof. Michael Roggendorf from the University of Duisburg-Essen granted fully recognition to the working development of the separate research teams and the suggestions put by the attendees.

And the 2nd project developing workshop was decided to be held in Essen, Germany in February 2011. The installation of the video conferencing system and website construction for this program will be accelerated after the meeting to improve the cooperation between Germany and China, and to build a solid foundation for the cooperation on a higher level and in greater scope in the future.
