A new railway from Chongqing to Huaihua started opened on November 1. This is a national key project in south west China. Type SS7E electrical locomotives are the main hauling power in this line.
The line is 624.5km long, which connect two provinces and one special city. It shorten half distance between Chongqing and Huaihua compare to the original line.
Type SS7E electrical locomotives are made by CNR Datong Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. With the 4,800kW, they feature fewer wheel flange wore, lighter on axle-load, higher passing ability on tight curves, faster starting acceleration and easy maintenance. SS7E play a pioneer in the fifth railway acceleration.
