A contract of supply 138 metro cars for the first phase of Line 1 of Shenyang Subway was signed on December 15, 2006 between Shenyang Subway Co., Ltd. and CNR Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd.
The total contract value is 813 million RMB Yuan. This is the fifth contract of metro awarded for CNR Changchun in 2006.
Shenyang is a center city in the northeaster China. It is also an important industry base and traffic hinge. The first phase of Line 1 is the middle section of Line 1. The length from No. 13 Street to culture palace is 27.909km, all underground. There are 22 stations along the line. The construction has started in November 2005 and will finish in 2009.
The train-set is composed of 3 motor cars and 3 trailers. The maximum speed is 80km/h. It has lightweight type B stainless steel-bodied without painting. The car will adopt proved micro-control simulation electronic control brake system, train protection system and driverless system.
Deliveries are scheduled for November 2008 and the final deliveries for March 201
