On May 23, the HXD2 electric locomotive rolled out in CNR Datong Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. This is the result of cooperation with ALSTOM. The contract of 180 locomotives was dealt in February 2005.
With high tractive power capable of drawing more than 5,000 tons, the rated power of locomotive is 9,600 kW and the max. speed is 120km/h. The axle arrangement is Bo-Bo. The axle load is 23/23 t. This is one of the biggest locomotives in the world.
