Employees of CNR have actively made donations for the victims of China s worst 8.0-magnitude earthquake in Sichuan Province since May 12. They were deeply shocked and extremely anxious about the people as soon as they heard the news.
On May 13, CNR called for all subsidiaries and employees actively playing their part, in many cases providing financial support for the nationwide relief campaign. On May 15, CNR donated RMB1.5 million Yuan to Sichuan disaster area and remitted RMB200,000 into the account of Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) which was badly damaged in the earthquake. On May 16, over 100 employees in head office donated over RMB80,000. At the same time, all subsidiaries are providing their support in different method.
At the same time of great earthquake, four 200km/h emu vehicles were testing on the rolling test stand in Chengdu, not far from the Wenchuan, earthquake center. The CNR employees are trying their best to firm the vehicles on the stand against great vibration. Under the effort, all vehicles are safety.
