On June 8, 2007, four diesel-electric locomotives contract for Congo (K) was dealt. The locomotives will be manufactured by CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. This is the third times that the locomotive of CNR Dalian enters Africa market after Nigeria and Tanzania.
The four locomotives are divided into two types. One is 1,000 horsepower with Bo-Bo wheel arrangement and 70 km/h max. speed. Another is 1,800 horsepower with Co-Co wheel arrangement and 100 km/h max. speed. The truck gauge is 1,067 mm. They all have a single driver cab.
Delivery is scheduled for early 2008.
