Since June 18th, CSR has become a focus of coverage by more than 30 media at home and abroad. As one of the 11 SOE State-Owned Enterprises models to be promoted around China in 2008, CCTV, China National Radio, Xinhua News Agency, People s Daily and other mainstream media in the Chinese mainland as well as Hong Kong-based Wenhui, TakungPao and other overseas media all took CSR as their focus to delve deeper in its achievements and experience.
According to Lu Weidong, Vice Director of the Publicity Bureau under SASAC the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the 11 SOE models, including 6 ones under the Central Government and 5 local ones, were approved by senior leaders of the Central Government based on the self recommendation of 138 competitors and the studies of SASAC.
SASAC and the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee organized and invited mainstream media in the Chinese mainland to make intensive coverage to search in their experience and reflect the great achievements in the state-owned enterprises in the past three decades since the reform and opening-up.
CSR became the first among the models to be promoted.
Since June 18th, the major media ran coverage of CSR in their major pages. On the 18th, Xinhua News Agency ran a news report entitled CSR: A CRH Speeding Forward, and pointed out in its short comment that CSR has blazed a new trail for the rise of SOEs with its views of Making Bigger and Stronger, and we are looking forward to more and more CSRs. On the same evening, the Joint News Broadcast of CCTV ran a 70-second report entitled CSR: Innovation for Higher Targets, focusing on its technical innovation achievements along with a short comment.
At 6:30am in June 19th, News and Newspaper Clipping of China National Radio ran a 6-minute headline report entitled CSR: Self Innovation for Boundless Driving Force along with a short comment on CSR s opening-innovation model. On the same day, People s Daily, Economic Daily, Science and Technology Daily, Worker s Daily, Guangming Daily and other media under the central authorities of China also ran in-depth reports of more than 3,000 characters along with comments on their front pages, headlines or other eye-catching positions.
In addition, other professional mainstream media like People s Railway, China Enterprises News, China Business Daily, China Securities, Securities Times, Securities Daily, Hong Kong-based Wenhui News, Takungpao, China Daily and China SOEs as well as the online ones like Xinhuanet.com, People.com.cn, Sohu.com, Sina.com also made in-depth coverage of CSR in its strategic turnaround, industry integration, technical innovation and market expansion in recent years, which were also quoted by other online media widely and attracted attention from all walks of life.
On June 16th, CSR at its headquarters held a Press Conference of CSR, SOE Model of Media Promotion in 2008. Executives of this company like Zhao Xiaogang, Zheng Changhong, Liu Hualong and Shao Renqiang as well as the officials from the Publicity Bureau under SASAC made exchanges with correspondents from 27 media and answered their questions.
