Hunan Tourism Revenue Hits 28 Million Yuan on the Fourth Day of Week-long Spring Festival Holiday

According to the statistics, 42 scenic areas/spots under the direct monitoring of Hunan Tourism Bureau received 498,600 tourists on Feb. 5, the fourth day of the week-long Spring Festival holiday, creating an income of 28.2806 million yuan.

Along with the fair weather, people's passion for travelling heats up. They go on tours of visiting relatives, spring outings, and farmer house recreation.

The 2011 Spring Festival Changsha Kaifu Temple Fair, clothing display of minority nationalities and Long Street Pepper Banquet (hundreds of tables gathered in a long line) in Langshan of Shaoyang City, and the folk bonfire party at Longhui Huayao Scenic Area all served as folk feasts for tourists.

Cities and prefectures across the province all witnessed a peak of self-drive travelling. The number of self-drive tourists to Changsha Jinggang Ancient Town, Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall, and Huitang Hot Spring accounted for about 40% of the total amount of tourists. Zhuzhou Emperor Yan's Mausoleum and Jiubujiang Scenic Area also received a large number of self-drive tourists from within the province while Zhangjiajie saw a great many of self-drive arrivals from Pearl River Delta.

In addition, the major scenic areas in Yueyang City have witnessed an average of about 1,000 cars per day.
