CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. received orders for 132 vehicles from Ningbo Metro several days ago, and thus became the supplier of the phase of the Metro Line No.1 project in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province.
According to the plan, the Metro Line No. 1, the east-west trunk line, is scheduled to open to traffic in 2014 with a total length of 44.18 km.
According to introduction, the line No.1 will adopt the standard B-type transit vehicle with a maximum carrying capacity of 2,062 passengers. Its design speed reaches 80 km per hour and the rate of delivering passengers is 19 times of that of the ordinary buses on the ground.
In recent years, the company has successfully established the independent R&D platform for high-end transit vehicles. The platform could develop and produce different kinds of car bodies made of aluminum alloy or stainless steel as well as A-type, B-type and C-type transit vehicles.
The number of transit vehicles supplied by the company to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Wuhan has exceeded 1,750.
What's more, these vehicles have gone through the passenger peak during the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai and the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, winning worldwide acclaim for itself.
