Illegal Behaviors in Highway Administration Corrected During Spring Festival

To regulate highway check and law enforcement during Spring Festival, the Malpractices Correcting Office of Hunan Province established an inspection mechanism to deal with three kinds of illegal behaviors in highway administration, namely, illegal highway stations and arbitrary fines and charges, revealed by the office on Feb. 3.

At the end of January, the office, together with transportation and public security departments of the province, set up a joint inspection team to conduct a thorough investigation on the highways in terms of security and illegal behaviors during Spring Festival.

The team urges that the relevant units must intensify the supervision on law enforcement officers and strictly regulate enforcement behaviors. The efficient transportation of fresh agricultural products must be ensured by opening the "Green Channel". The malpractices correcting organs and the relevant responsible units must thoroughly rectify the illegal behaviors and step up efforts to stamp out overloading vehicles. As for the overloading vehicles, the passengers must be divided into several batches to avoid accidents.
