Shantou Enterprises Participate in Formulation and Revision of 100-odd National Standards

Shantou has appropriated one million yuan as a special fund to encourage enterprises involvement in the formulation and revision of national, industrial and local standards. So far, over 30 organizations from Shantou have undertaken or participated in the formulation or revision of 100-odd national and industrial standards, playing a leading role in the formulation and revision work.
In recent years, the Communist Party of China Shantou Committee and Shantou Municipal Government have put high on agenda the implementation of technical standard strategy, established technical standard strategy joint meeting system, and appropriated funds to promote technical standard progress in enterprises. The Shantou quality and technical supervision authorities stick to the municipal development strategy and key development areas, reinforce the standardization works closely related to the local economic and social development, and have worked out many necessary local standards. Thanks to the leading role of standards in industrial development, the whole society from the market, the enterprises to the government have been motivated and engaged in standard formulation.
At present, five local enterprises and public institutions undertook three working group secretariats of the National Standardization Technology Committee and one Guangdong Provincial Standardization Technology Committee. 26 enterprises in Shantou have applied for the titles of "National and Provincial Fine Standardization Behavior", and five standard-sized enterprises have been confirmed. 429 products from 242 enterprises have been accorded the international standard logos. 182 municipal level agricultural standards have been formulated. And 58 agricultural standardization demonstration zones have been set up.
