The Report on the Work of the Government was released during the 5th Session of the 14th Dongguan Municipal People's Congress on January 20th, 2010. It confirms a list of top 10 projects that will be the focus of the Dongguan Government for this year. Social security, public transportation, medical services and social insurance, education, job location and training have been included in the project list for 4 consecutive years since 2007.
As early as 2002, the Municipal Government of Dongguan put forward the catch phrase of to do something concrete for the people for each year. In 2003, this commission was formally given the name 10 concrete projects . In 2007, the municipal government invited suggestions concerning these 10 concrete projects in 2008 from the public for the first time.
The year 2010 is showing a large number of residents joining in the submission of proposals. The statistics shows that the government has received 397 effective pieces of proposals from citizens via calls and letters and more than 40 from other departments. Finally the 10 projects for 2010 have been confirmed after careful consideration, said the Municipal Government s Supervision and Inspection Section.
