Dongguan is the most competitive Chinese city in housing environment, revealed the 2010 Blue Book of Chinese Cities' Competitiveness issued by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) on Monday.

The blue book was based on a comparison of 294 Chinese cities in their overall competitiveness, living environment, talent ontology, public sectors and innovation environment. Living environment covers housing, shopping, transportation, education, recreation and ecological conditions.
According to the book, the ten most competitive Chinese cities are Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Kaohsiung, Dalian and Qingdao.
GDP of the ten cities all exceeded 200 billion yuan, said the book. GDP of Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai surpassed 1 trillion yuan.
Dongguan is the most competitive in housing environment, the 3rd competitive in recreation, the 5th in transportation and the 10th competitive in innovation environment among the 294 Chinese cities. These qualities make Dongguan rank the 15th in overall competiveness, according to the book.
