Dongguan will tighten supervision on emission of SO and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) to meet the pollutants emission reduction target this year set by the Provincial Government.
Dongguan has tightened supervisions on emission of SO and COD by launching a monitoring network which will force coal-fire and oil-fire power plants with high pollution levels to shut down operation. |
Dongguan Government is to contain the city's COD emission and SO emission to 100 thousand tons and 90 thousand tons respectively this year, as required by the provincial government.
To complete this target, Dongguan will set up a monitoring network which will force coal-fire and oil-fire power plants with high pollution levels to shut down operation. The city will work harder to promote the use of clean energies such as oil, gas and electricity, and will strive to contain the sulfur content in coal and fuel oil to less than 0.8%.
