July is always the hottest month in northern hemisphere. Entering the midsummer, Dongguan is affected by subtropical high pressure systems from time to time. Weather with a high temperature of over 33 has heated the city for several days. The national weather station in Banling Botanical Garden of Nancheng District recorded a 34.4 temperature which is the highest this year. The city s meteorological bureau also has issued amber alert for hot weather since July 1.
It is forecasted that the high-temperature weather systems with strong sunlight will be sustained throughout the week. The highest temperature record is likely to be topped. Temperature in some townships is likely to reach in excess of 35 and brief showers will be present in some regional locations.
As solar radiation around noontime is comparatively high, residents are advised to take preventative measures to avoid heatstroke and sunburn by shortening the time spent on outdoor activities. The temperature of asphalt and cement pavement surface is predicted to reach a height of between 60 to 70 , meaning that the traffic police and construction workers are going to be confronted with temperatures far above 35 and are more likely to suffer heatstroke.
