USTB, UCR Fostered Educational Ties

A delegation led by Prof. Valerie Hodge, the Associate Director of the International Education Programs of University of California, Riverside (UCR), paid a visit to USTB to seek educational cooperation. Prof. Xu Jinwu, President of USTB met the delegation and held a friendly talk.
Prof. Xu Jinwu made a succinct introduction on USTB to the delegation and briefed them on USTB s latest updates of international strategies. In the meeting, Prof. Valerie Hodge noted that UCR has just started an Education Abroad Program (EAP) which allows international students to have access to undergraduate credit courses and to enjoy a tuition fee in accordance with UCR students. She also said that USTB was a very important partner for UCR and hoped that more USTB students would go to UCR for study. After the talk, Prof. Xu Jinwu and Prof. Valerie Hodge signed a contract for cooperation on students program.
USTB will launch its undergraduate credit course program with UCR this year, which provides sophomore students with opportunities to complete their junior courses in UCR and get their credits. Detailed information about this program will be given by the International Office on its website: http://oice.ustb.edu.cn. And the selection notification is to send to schools in November.
UCR is one of 10 universities within the prestigious University of California system, and the only UC located in Inland Southern California. UC Riverside has received recognition in many national and international rankings, including: Washington Monthly 2009 ranked UCR 16th in the nation in contributing to the public good. And U.S. News & World Report ranked UCR among the top tier of universities nationwide in their 2010-11 survey.
