On September 14, Mr. Sulima, Vice Minister of the Ukraine Ministry of Education and Science, and Prof. Olexander G. Velitchko, Rector of National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine (NMetAU) visited USTB. Prof. Xu Jinwu, President of USTB, met the delegation members.
Prof. Xu Jinwu extended his warmest welcome to the visiting guests and briefed them on the historical backgrounds, disciplinary building and scientific development of USTB. In the meeting, the sides exchanged opinions on major issues like university management and its future development, and discussed possible cooperation on students exchange and scientific research. After the meeting, Mr. Sulima and Prof. Velitchko visited the University History Museum and the Engineering Research Institute of USTB.
Under the Ukraine Ministry of Education and Science, the NMetAU was founded in 1899 with 13 departments. It is the best institute in the fields of academic research and teaching among seven metallurgical academies in Ukraine with more than 1000 faculty members including two academicians, 25 scientists and 16 winners of the National Awards.
