Academic Seminar with Tohoku University Closes

The 5th academic seminar between USTB and Tohoku University (TU) was held in on March 15th. Chaired by Prof. T. Nagasak of TU and Prof. Wang Fuming of USTB, the seminar attracted students and faculties from School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering, USTB.
The seminar was held for the academic exchange between USTB and TU in the fields of mechanical engineering and architecture, etc. It aimed to emphasize engineering design and teamwork education.
The seminar enthralled the audience as thirteen students from both universities made vivid presentations about their achievements in academic work and campus life, including themes as experimental skills, heat transfer, cement process and steel slag usage. At the end of the seminar, Prof. Nagasak awarded four students of School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering, saying that he was deeply impressed by the excellent English skills of Chinese students.
The seminar has been held annually since 2005. Every year students form Tohoku University will come to join USTB students for academic lectures and symposiums. It is said that this year USTB will also send students to Tohoku University for further exchange.
Tohoku University, located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture in the T hoku Region, Japan, is a Japanese national university. It is the third oldest Imperial University of Japan and is a member of the National Seven Universities.
