KPU Delegation Paid a Visit to USTB

Led by Dr. Choi Jun-Yeong, President of Korea Polytechnic University (KPU), a delegation consisting of Dr. Kim Duck-Hyun, Dean of Academic Affairs and Dr. Bae You-Suk, head of International Affairs Team, paid a visit to USTB on April 6th, 2010. Prof. Xu Jinwu, President of USTB and Prof. Wang Ge, Director of International Office met with the delegation members at the welcome reception.
Prof. Xu Jinwu extended a warm welcome to the visiting KPU delegation. Then he and Dr. Choi Jun-Yeong briefed the two sides on the general information about USTB and KPU respectively. USTB and KPU leaders agreed to seek cooperation on a host of fields from student exchange to scientific collaboration as Dr. Choi Jun-Yeong pledged positive and comprehensive ties with USTB. After the reception meeting, the delegation toured around the campus, paying a visit to the School History Museum, the key labs, the Engineering Research Institute and the Gymnasium.
KPU was established with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (at present the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Korea) as a four-year university of science and technology to highlight technological competitiveness. Since 2005, the KPU Research Cooperation Group has dedicated itself to the proliferation of hi-tech transfer projects in the developing countries with the support and funding of UNESCO as KPU is the future training base of science talents in developing countries.
