Since many provinces in Zambia are in remote areas, it is hard to conduct training activities. Hence local distributors are impaired in knowledge structure, which has not only caused difficulties in work but hurt their enthusiasm for work. Furthermore, the mismanagement by the leading distributor in the capital Lusaka who expanded the local network and set up a specialty store has brought about many networking problems. For the purpose of truly understanding and solving such problems in these outlying areas, helping local distributors broaden their knowledge structure and work skills, and providing good service and support for distributors in such areas, marketing personnel of Tasly Zambia, led by the General Manager, completed a 20-day training tour in 5 provinces in middle and late June.
Setting out from the capital Lusaka, the marketing personnel headed for Central Province after holding a large motivational meeting in the province Lusaka, then moved to Luapula Province bordering DRC, and finally reached Northern Province, the furthest one in the country. In the nearly 3 weeks the General Manager personally gave distributors in remote areas intensive training, thus enabling them to deeper understand the corporate culture, products and management of the direct selling network.
The marketing personnel talked with all local distributors face to face wherever they went, found their exact difficulties in networking, and gave detailed answers to their questions and doubts. The distributors were also promised that the firm was consolidating specialty stores in remote areas to improve their management.
Every time a training seminar was organized, the venue was heated by an electric atmosphere and the training was highly recognized by all attendees. They said: This is not a seminar in the common sense. We re enriched with product knowledge and work skills. What s more, the firm has truly cleared up our confusions and bottlenecks in relation to our networks and work, and helped us muster up the confidence and courage to work for higher goals.

The firm focused on and solved the considerable networking problems in out-of-the-way areas in the month after the training tour. By early August the consolidation of remote specialty stores has been basically completed and both the enthusiasm of local distributors for work and their recognition of the firm have been increased to a higher level.
