Bohai 9 rig has been operating safely for 1,500 days

China Oilfield Service Limited COSL or the Company says its Bohai 9 drilling rig has been operating safely for 1,500 days till 17 January 2011.

Operating under the principles of Safety First. Prioritize Prevention , a variety of safety education activities had been hosted on Bohai 9, including a 100 days of Safe Operation event, a Safety Month event, a STOP Reward Scheme and seminars on safe operations. Banners with safety slogans were posted in the accommodation and working zone on the rig.

Staff members further take their own initiative to learn more about safe operations and apply safety operation procedures on their day-to-day work through participating in these events. Activities such as seminars ,to be safety model ,contest on safety units ,etc were being held to change staff members perception from the passive attitude of Safety at Work to a more proactive attitude of Work for Safety .

A further goal of operating safely for 2,000 days has been established for Bohai 9 to enhance the conscientiousness of staff members on safe operations. This goal will be accompanied by more detailed safety management and training schedules in order to make Bohai 9 a model rig meeting the highest safety standards.
