Li Wancai meets Zhou Weide of Intel Corporation

Intel Corporation presented the Dalian Municipal Government a chipset produced at Intel s Dalian Chip Plant.

Li Wancai met with Zhou Weide, general manager of Intel global chip manufacturing.

Recently, Intel s Dalian Chip Plant successfully produced its first batch of products; in the first half of this year, a kind of PC with chipset produced in Dalian will be expected to be put into Dalian and global markets. Yesterday, Zhou Weide (Joshua Walden), general manager of Intel global chip manufacturing, presented the Dalian Municipal Government a chipset produced at Intel s Dalian Chip Plant and assembled and tested in Chengdu. Mayor Li Wancai said that the precious chipset pooled our efforts and friendship, and also witnesses prospects of cooperation between Dalian and Intel Corporation.

Li went on to say that Dalian will speed up the development of the emerging industrial system, leading with strategic industries, supporting with advanced equipment manufacturing and developing with modern industry, in particular in the areas of semiconductor integrated circuits and software and information services which will be most important orfuture development. In the new period, we should firmly grasp common strategic development opportunities to further deepen our cooperation and mutual trust over the years; the Dalian Municipal Government and relevant departments will continue to create a good investment environment and provide more quality and efficient services for Intel.
Zhou said that the smooth operation of Intel s Dalian Chip Plant is attributed greatly to the supports and assistance of Dalian. It has turned out that Intel's investment in Dalian is a good choice; Intel Corporation will find more opportunities for cooperation with Dalian and better support Dalian s economic and social development.
Xu Changyuan, secretary of the CCP Affairs Work Committee and director of the Administrative Committee of Changxing Island Harbor Industrial Zone, and Assistant Mayor Liu Yan attended the meeting.
On the same day, Mayor Li also met with Kaufman, CEO of Austria (China) Ogilvy & Mather; the two sides reached consensus on further strengthening cooperation and exchanges. Xu Changyuan, secretary of the CCP Affairs Work Committee and director of the Administrative Committee of Changxing Island Harbor Industrial Zone, was present at the meeting.
