A recreation center for senior citizens has been built on West Chang an Street of Xicheng district. 2,800,000 yuan had been invested in the project in order to make the center fully equipped. Now as the recreation center has officially opened, it can provide professional rooms for various training, dancing, singing, playing all kinds of ball games and so on, for senior citizens in the district.
According to statistics, among the 76,000 permanent citizens in West Chang an Street, there are 15,000 people beyond the age of 60. Many senior citizens would like to spend their leisure time exercising, singing and dancing, but there were no enough room and equipments before. Supported by district government, the recreation center was built within two months and covers an area of 780 square meters.
