Noted Anesthesiologist T. J. Gan from Duke University Visited CQMU

Dr. T. J. Gan, professor of anesthesiology and medical director of Clinical Anesthesia Research Endeavor (CARE) of Duke University School of Medicine visited our university in the company of Prof. Min Su, director of Anesthesiology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU on April 10, 2008. Yang Shaowen, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of CQMU warmly welcomed the guest on behalf of the university and had with the guest a forum entitled ???build the platform, strengthen the academic cooperation???.
Dr. T. J. Gan is a well-known American anesthesiologist and has long been active in the academic exchanges with China. This time he was specially invited to attend the 2008 Annual Convention of Chinese Association of Anesthesiologists, which was organized by the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU. His attendance is beneficial to the publicity of our university in the international circle of anesthesiology and to our academic cooperation with the foreign experts.
In the meeting Dr. T. J. Gan introduced the PhD program of clinical anesthesiology in the U. S. with a hope to cultivate PhD for us and looked forward to the cooperation in the scientific research of analgesia after surgery with new techniques and cardiac devices and the co-publication of academic papers in the top periodicals of the world. Yang Shaowen voiced the strong support of our university for the exchanges and cooperation between the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU and the Duke University School of Medicine. She also pointed out the great potential in the scientific research of anesthesiology in China and wished to cooperate with Dr. T. J. Gan in more research projects and yield more achievements. Prof. Min Su introduced in the meeting the talk with Dr. T. J. Gan about the cooperation of an analgesic research. Related personnel of President???s Office, Foreign Affairs Office and the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU also attended the meeting.
