During the late July to the mid-August, 16 teachers from HZU went to UNITEC Institute of Technology for pedagogy and language trainings. It is the first time for HZU s bilingual teachers to receive educational trainings from universities in New Zealand. During the training, the Education Department of UNITEC had provided some practical courses for HZU s teachers and the core curriculum of the trainings is Educational Strategies in the 21 Century.
Through the training, all teachers from HZU shared similar views that the Educational Department owns the finest resources in UNITEC with doctorate programs. Teachers and specialists from UNITEC have a store of teaching experiences with practices as well as much solid background knowledge. They also stated that New Zealand currently has a high level of internationalization in higher education. The qualities of education and standards for running schools are about the same among different universities in New Zealand. What s more, UNITEC has advanced curriculums for different majors. Teachers and specialists are focusing more on the effectiveness of the courses and students have strong competences in knowledge migration ability. Teachers from HZU especially admired UNITEC teachers professional integrity, adequate preparation of course planning, flexible ways of teaching, fascination of class atmosphere and the passion and love for their careers. In addition, teachers and students in UNITEC have abundant teaching and learning resources. During the training, UNITEC administration invited HZU teachers to attend lectures, forums in relevant majors. Officials are expressing their willingness to encourage the programs of exchange students and cooperative project developments.
Throughout the training, the traits of diligence, curiousness, the pursuit of knowledge and pragmatism as well as being communicative our 16 teachers shares made a good impression to the directors and officials from Education Department in UNITEC. And with the internationalization of HZU, teachers believe the future of the cooperation between HZU and UNITEC will be brighter.
