Upon the invitation of Taiwan Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST), the six-person ZSTU delegation headed by Assistant President Zhu Gendi made a visit to Taiwan from November 16 to 20.
The visit is intended by the delegation to cover the following concerns: to attend 2009 Cross-Strait Economy & Trade Management Conference, to negotiate with MUST about the further cooperation between the two universities, and to visit other colleges and universities in Taiwan.
Cross-Strait Economy & Trade Management Conference was initially held by ZSTUSchool of Economics & Management and MUSTCollege of Management. The two universities take turns to hold the annual conference which aims at providing a platform for cross-strait experts and scholars to exchange with each other and promoting collegiate cooperation, economic and cultural development across the strait. This year MUST held the third conference with the theme Cross-Strait Economy & Trade Management promote international competitiveness of cross-strait colleges and universities . The Conference consisted of the opening ceremony thematic forum and group seminars.
At the opening ceremony Zhu Gendi, on behalf of ZSTU, extended sincere appreciation for MUST and expressed warm congratulations on the smooth convocation of the Conference. He gave a brief introduction of ZSTU and emphasized that the Conference conformed to the dynamic cross-strait economic, trade and cultural exchange and is of great strategic and practical importance to further highlight the educating level and international influence of cross-strait colleges and universities and promote economic and cultural development across the strait. He also expected greater cooperation between the two universities.
Deputy Director from School of Economics & Management, ZSTU, attended the opening ceremony thematic forum and aired his opinion on the practicing effects of the strategy of internationalized development of Zhejiang higher education . A number of experts and scholars from Taiwan colleges, universities and corporations also attended the thematic forum.
The other three ZSTU teachers attended the group seminars and delivered speeches on the analysis of the rejuvenation scheme of Mainland China economy under the global financial crisis , the analysis of BYD s operation strategy , the analysis of the development trends of Mainland China exporting trade , and China higher accounting education: development, problems and solutions .
During the visit, ZSTU delegation made multi-level talks with MUST and its College of Management leaders, including the development of the universities, their further cooperation and the promotion of student and teacher exchange programs. Accompanied by ZSTU teachers, ZSTU delegation made their visit to Chin-Yi University of Technology and St. John sUniversity and held meetings exchanging with each other their educating development.
