Li Shaotong (student) from School of Foreign Language Studies, ZSTU and Chen Huiting (student) from QixinSchool, ZSTU took part in the 2011 East Asian Student Global Forum held by Woosong University of Korea on behalf of ZSTU in winter vacation. During the 3 days forum, 135 students from 25 universities and 6 high schools in China, Japan and Korea participated, among whom 35 were from China (including 4 from Taiwan).
On the opening ceremony,Hong-Chul YUM (mayor of Deajeon, Korea), Ai Hongge (educational counselor of Embassy of the People s Republic of China in the Republic of Korea) and the official of Embassy of Japan in Korea delivered speeches respectively, followed by the welcome speeches of Dr. Jin Shengjing (board chairman of Woosong University), Dr. John E.Endicott (president of Woosong University) and Dr. Gan Ruiyuan (vice president of Woosong University in charge of international exchange affairs), in which they expressed their hope for all the students to make full use of the opportunity to learn from each other, make friends and make their own efforts to develop the friendship between the three nations and between other East Asian countries.
All the students were divided into 16 groups during the forum. They held discussions separately on physical culture, culture and economic exchange and explored the ways to stimulate international and regional communication in East Asia. The results were exchanged and assessed. The group where ZSTU student Chen Huiting was in was awarded the 3rd prize for its sufficient preparation and unique expression.
