Meeting on Fire Prevention held at CZU(44445)

November 18, 2010. Meeting on fire prevention was held in the Fourth Conference Room at Changzhou University in the morning. School leaders, directors of relevant departments and heads of all the faculties attended the meeting which was hosted by Chen Kuiqing, the Vice President of CZU.

At the meeting, Shi Guodong, the Party Secretary of CZU, stated three points on fire prevention. First, great importance must be stressed on fire control. During autumn and winter fire disasters are more likely to occur when the weather is dry. All the departments can never be more careful in preventing fire disasters from happening. Second, inspect the whole school to reduce the chances of fire disasters, especially student dormitories, laboratories and offices. Make sure that hazardous chemicals are under close watch and high-watt electric appliances are not used in student dorms. Third, further the education of fire prevention. Both teachers and students must be taught consistently how to put out a small fire, how to escape and how to be safe from traffic on campus, etc. Through posters and banners, everyone should know safety measures, emergency exits and also be concerned with fire prevention.

The meeting also reported the current situation on campus, analyzed the hidden sources of trouble, and mapped out the next step of fire prevention work.
