A delegation headed by Prof. Yu Shicheng, President of SMU visited Hogeschool Zeeland in the southwest of Netherlands and was warmly received by Mr. Peter Van Dongen, President of Hogeschool Zeeland. Ms. Du Huifang, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission joined the visit.
During the talk, President Peter van Dongen introduced about the Hogeschool Zeeland and briefed on the learning and living situation of 53 SMU students in Netherlands. President Yu said, since the Sino-Dutch cooperation project had started in 2007, both sides had enjoyed a pleasant cooperation relation which was highly recognized by students, parents and the society. The two sides also had further discussions on future exchange and cooperation.
After the talk, accompanied by President Peter Van Dongen, President Yu visited Hogeschool Zeeland and its laboratories. He also had a warm and friendly talk with SMU students studying in Netherlands.
Mr. Kees van Beveren, Vice Governor of Zeeland Province hosted a banquet in honor of President Yu and his delegation that night.
During his visit in Dutch, President Yu also visited Maastricht School of Management and exchanged ideas on deepening the cooperation between the two sides with Prof. Peter de Gijsel, President of Maastricht School of Management. President Yu said Maastricht School of Management and SMU enjoyed a long-term partnership of 15 years in co-hosting MBA. He also expressed his expectation to widen cooperation of the two sides. Both sides emerged a consensus in graduate exchange students.
