2010 Chinese Cultural Study Camp between SNNU and KNU Closes

On August 10, a camp of 15 people from Kyungpook National University (KNU), the Republic of Korea, arrived at Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU) for 6 days study on Chinese culture. In the afternoon, SNNU held a formal opening ceremony for 2010 Chinese Cultural Study Camp between SNNU and KNU. Several leaders were present, including Xie Yongguo, Director of Student Affairs Department, Director Zhang Jiancheng and Deputy Director Wang Lei of International Programs Office, Qu Honggang, Chief of section of Student Affairs Department, Li Juan from International Programs Office, Director Pu Qinshun and Xu Xuanzhou of Office of International Affairs, KNU.

SNNU designed a series of interesting activities for the guests from KNU. Six days cultural study made them learn extensive knowledge of Xi an including its politics, history, local folk culture, etc. The camp members visited lots of places such as the two Campuses of SNNU, The West Market of Tang Dynasty, The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, The Imperial Park of Qujiang, The Tang Paradise, Shaanxi History Museum, Terracotta Warriors and Horses of the Qin Dynasty, Qianling Museum, Famen Temple, The Bell Tower and the Drum Tower, and many other places of interest in Shaanxi Province. Besides, they also experienced the beauty of Chinese calligraphy and the essence of Chinese Kong fu. In a word, these diverse activities extended their understanding about the splendid history of Shaanxi province, the changes of Xi an city and the development of SNNU. All the camp members were deeply impressed by the brilliance of Chinese civilization.

This cultural traveling ended in the morning of August 16 and a closing ceremony was given at Qixia Yuan Hotel. Both sides benefited a great deal from this cultural communication which intensified mutual recognition and laid a sound foundation for further cooperation and communication between SNNU and KNU.
