In the morning of March 5, the delegation of Thai higher education visited our university (SNNU). Headed by Dr. Suzha Menggai, assistant deputy secretary-general of Thai Higher Education Committee, the delegation consisted of 14 members. They are the representatives of the following six universities and three organizations: the International Education Department of Export Promotion Office of Thai Commercial Affairs Department, Burapha University, Kasetsart University, Mahidol University, Khon Kaen University, Mae Fah Luang University, Assumption University, Thai consul office stationed in Xi an city, and Thai consul-general office stationed in Chengdu city.
On behalf of SNNU, Secretary Jiang Xiule welcomed the coming of the first large-scale delegation ever in this semester. He briefly introduced SNNU in terms of teaching and research, personnel training, international exchange and etc.. What s more, Jiang looked back the friendly intercourse between SNNU and Thai higher education circles of the late years. Representatives from the above universities also introduced their situation and international exchange intention. Zhang Jianxiang, the vice president, exchanged opinions with them in the fields of students exchange, teachers exchange, academic exchange, united training etc.; Zhang also discussed the cooperative potential with the guests.
Both sides also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on the reached cooperative intentions and send each delegation to exchange visits in proper time to promote substantive cooperation. (trans: Chu Tianxia)
